Committed to acquiring and leading one exceptional Canadian business for the long term, while preserving legacy and growing local impact.

About Me

Tyler Bennett

Before founding Gavia Capital, I built a fulfilling career as a mechanical engineer in Ontario, Canada, working both as an engineer and manager in the construction industry. My journey has been defined by a hands-on approach, a love for solving complex problems, and a passion for working closely with small teams to achieve tangible results.

In 2018, my entrepreneurial spirit led me to take on a unique challenge: building my own tiny home. This project, which became my residence for three years, not only honed my skills but also deepened my belief in the importance of small businesses and their impact on communities. This experience solidified my commitment to entrepreneurship, driving my desire to lead and grow a business where I can directly contribute to its success. Earning an MBA from Harvard Business School further enhanced my leadership abilities and gave me a deeper understanding of how to manage and grow a successful business. But more importantly, it reinforced my belief that true leadership is about more than just profit—it’s about the people who drive the business and the legacy it leaves behind.

My wife Katherine and I recently returned to Ontario, a place we proudly call home. I started Gavia Capital with a simple mission: to acquire and lead one exceptional Canadian business with the same care and dedication its founders have shown. I understand that selling a business is a deeply personal decision, often intertwined with years of hard work, dedication, and concern for the future of employees and the community. That’s why I am committed to ensuring that the business we acquire continues to thrive, not just as a financial entity, but as a living part of its community, sustaining the legacy its founders have built.

At Gavia Capital, my focus is on honouring the hard work and values that have made your business successful. I am here to listen, collaborate, and ensure that the next chapter of your business is one of growth, respect, and continued impact.
